Leg Lamps

A Series of Table Lamps

Summary

Should everything be redesigned? What happens when we edit the purpose or original ethics of things we already have?

These lamps are designed around existing parts from Home Depot, Ikea, and McMaster-Carr. The starting place was the colorful lampcords – I saw those and they reminded me of power tool casings, heavy-duty extension cords, spring clamps – all the boring but purposeful products I obsess over. The plywood and the name of the series are from table legs I found at Ikea.

The color palettes consist of flat neutrals (dark gray, flat olive), bursts of electric color (red, orange, cyan), birch plywood, and cork.
