Non-Floating Pony Shirt

A Dip-Dyed Oxford Shirt

Summary

Detailed figurative animal logos are a common conceit among makers of men’s sportswear. The animals are usually depicted in action, running, jumping, or perhaps pouncing across the wide-open whitespace of the garment.

By adding a gentle, rolling field of green to this shirt, the pony in the Polo Ralph Lauren logo is given context. Whereas animal logos like this usually “float” on most products to which they are applied, the pony on this shirt is given a verdant world to roam.

The green field was created by simply dip-dying the garment up until the bottom of the Polo logo.

Photographs on this page were made by Jacob Krupnick and myself.
