Summary

People of Resource is an Atlanta-based multidisciplinary design firm founded in 2009 by Georgia Tech Industrial Design instructor David VanArsdale. After a vivid first 6 months of life, the company had pulled off a few ambitious projects and had begun to develop a reputation for its high-quality work, aggressive timelines, and can-do attitude.

It was at this point that I was brought in to begin consulting with the company on its visual identity and strategic direction as it transitioned from its humble beginnings to larger, higher-profile projects. We began this process by asking the simplest, but most essential questions to any business: who are we? What makes us special? What and who do we want to live up to?

As we began building the brand in earnest, I was brought in full-time as a Designer and Strategist, applying my skills to both the internal concerns of the company as well as its growing list of client projects.

Given the diverse nature of People of Resource’s capabilities and ambitions, our most essential move was to introduce a rigorous modernist grid to the identity across its print, interactive, and motion expressions.

The grid became our playground and we developed collateral that spoke to the rambunctious, youthful, but ultimately good-natured tone of the firm.
